Hello! I'm Kate, a software engineering student with a strong drive for building functional, logical, and user-friendly applications. My journey into technology is rooted in a lifelong love for creative problem-solving. From spending my childhood crafting imaginative stories and scenarios with Bratz dolls to meticulously assembling complex Lego sets, I've always enjoyed piecing things together to create something beautiful and structured.
Currently, I'm honing my technical skills, specializing in backend logic, frameworks like Django, and full-stack development. I have hands-on experience designing everything from visual workflows for complex scientific processes to interactive database-driven applications. I thrive on diving deep into a problem and architecting a clean, efficient solution.
When I'm not writing code, I am either cuddled up on the couch with my dogs or I am playing video games. My ultimate goal is to merge my logical mindset with my creative passions to build software that is both highly functional and engaging.
Developed a comprehensive news application as a final capstone project, demonstrating full-stack capabilities, database integration, and clean architectural design.
Engineered a Django-based eCommerce application featuring robust role-based access controls for vendors and products. Additionally, designed and deployed an interactive sticky notes web application focusing on CRUD operations.
Designed and implemented a task management system to handle the logic for completing and tracking NPC errands and interactions.
Currently undertaking an intensive software engineering curriculum focusing on practical, industry-standard development practices, Python, and full-stack engineering.
I have a Bachelors degree in genetics and cellular biology. Whereby my interest in genetics and cellular biology aligns closely with my passion for software development, as both involve analysing and constructing systems from their most fundamental elements to understand how they function as a whole.
